2020 GIRO D'ITALIA: THE BIG START IN BUDAPEST

Yesterday was the official announcement of the Big Start of the Giro d’Italia 2020 in Budapest. The G4 team was there! In 2018 the start was in Israel. For 2020, the Italian organizers are decided to stay in east and bring the big start of Giro in Budapest. The stages in Hungary will not be revealed until July 2019.

An announcement which pleased us, Petra Harangi, manager of G4 is Hungarian! We know the popularity of cycling in Budapest and Hungary. There is a big desire for cultural development around cycling! By the way, G4 just decided 2 weeks ago to find a local partner Ride Hard, to create it’s first Saturday G4 training rides in Budapest. If you remember well in 2018, G4 was at the source of the  of the Pannon cycling team development! (our presentation of the team)

DEMOCRATISATION OF CYCLING

This announcement is real a confirmation of the Cycling democratisation in the world. A lot of territories become the real land of cycling. Budapest loves cycling and habitants are using the bike regulary fo everyday life or for tourism, but Hungary enters another category by organizing the first three stages of the 2020’s Giro d’Italia. It the first step to become a cycling country in the sporting sense of the term by welcoming one of the three biggest events of the cycling world!

GIRO, A GOOD THINGS FOR HUNGARIANS

Petra is very touched to know this event in her country: “As a Hungarian, I am very happy to finally have a great cycling race in my country! Hungary does not really have a famous history with cycling, it has never received Grand Tours. It’s a big challenge to organize such a great event for a small country in just 13 months.” She thinks, it can be a good thing for Hungarian cycling and hopes to see multipling hungarian cycling races and pros riders! “Currently, in Hungary, we ride a bike with the family, at the amateur level, or for health. The cycling sport is quit small, we have few amateur races and 1-2 Continental races and of course the Tour de Hogrie . There are only two or three U23 Hungarian cyclists in reserve of the Pro cycling teams. For example Attile Walter at CCC’s young team. I hope that with the Giro Hungarian cycling sport will grow even more and faster, who knows? I wish, we may see a Hungarian riders or team on a Grand Tour in a few years! “

2020, G4 YEAR!

We were present at the announcement of the start of two Grands Tours in 1 month! “Le Tour de France”, which will start from Nice , the cradle of our G4 brand. We will obviously be present!

The “Giro d’Italia”, start from Hungary ( the country of Petra Harangi), we will be there too. Of course, as soon as the stages will be unveiled, we offer a summary of them, stay tuned.
