Episode 2: Saint-Paul de Vence, the cultural ride!

For my second ride, I make you discover the charming village of Saint-Paul de Vence, one of the most touristic place of the region. For my outfit, I have chosen the Art collection, in tribute to Saint-Paul artists who contributed to the beauty of this village. The jersey is made of anti-UV fabric, ideal for summer, added a black active compression bib-short. On my head, I still wear my Giro Synthe and, on my feet, I have chosen high cycling socks in perfect harmony with my jersey, and finally a pair of black summer gloves to absorb perspiration.

At the start of the ride, it’s 8h30 am, I am on the bike path of Cagnes-sur-Mer, the sun is shining, the weather conditions are perfect for a ride.

Giuseppe, piste cyclable

Let’s go ! Direction Saint-Paul de Vence ! As i said before, it is necessary to take the bike path and go along Cagnes-sur-Mer. After 1km we leave the bike path and we head for the city Colle-sur-Loup, passing through the city center of Cagnes-sur-Mer, on the way, you can see the HIPPODROME and the new POLYGONE RIVIERA mall, open since October 2015, there are shops, restaurants, a cinema, and even a casino. Not time to stop, too bad for me, the shopping will be for later 😉. After the mall, we are slowly approaching la Colle-sur-Loup, the road climbs slightly. Arrived in the city of La Colle-sur-Loup, at the roundabout go straight , you have to take the direction of Saint-Paul de Vence. On the 5km easy climb you can see Saint-Paul village closer and closer. It’s really looks like a nice provencal village.

Here we are! In the village of Saint-Paul de Vence, it rises on a rocky spur offering a unique and admirable panorama. Old stone streets, shops and art galleries are the charm of this village.

This is the right place and the perfect time to drink or eat at « Le café de la place », alongside dozens of tourists. After a short break, linger in the pretty streets of the village, to admire the small shops and the art galleries, you can also fill you cycling bottle in a drinking water foutain. Then go up to overlook this magnificent view. Be careful when you ride in the streets, because they are made of slippery stones.

It is time to leave this wonderful village and take the road to the city of Vence. To avoid the main with cars, I took a smaller road covered by trees, this road goes up for 2km, it is not very difficult you have just to find the right speed. After this shorter climb we arrive in the city of Vence. From here we continue our loop direction to the village of St Jeannet, which is also a provencal cute village, maybe the hight at this pass Vence-Nice-Grasse, after passing the village, go down to the city of la Gaude, and follow the direction of St Laurent du Var, to reach the bike path that takes us to Cagnes-sur-Mer.

Here we are, back in Cagnes-sur-Mer, after a beautiful sunny ride of 37.5km.

Regarding my ART jersey, I totally approve it, its design SkinLycra® offers impeccable comfort. The cut and fit of the man cycling jersey is designed with the rider in mind, ensuring a perfect fit to display the elegance of the G4 Art Collection. I also used a waterproof pockets, to put my phone and my money for the coffee, and my phone was not even “humide”.  What about the shorts? A high-quality compression for a perfect support of the muscles, the ergonomic shoulder straps of the short provide a feeling of support without sacrificing comfort due to its elasticity. They will fit all sizes. Finally, the quality of the chamois pad is perfect, you are protected et and safe during all your ride doesn’t matter if you go or down.
