G4 CYCLING CLUB # EP1: L’ÉTAPE DU TOUR

The G4 Cycling Club is made up of cyclists from different backgrounds, all sharing the same passion. It is their opportunity to belong to a community of like-minded folk. Whatever your ability and discipline, you can ride in G4’s club colours and take part in exclusive bike rides.

To join the G4 Cycling Club you just need to be willing to push yourself to give of your best. Together, we encourage everyone to enjoy themselves and share the passion that drives our lives. It’s not merely a competition: it’s a way of life. The G4 Cycling Club recruits cyclists who just love to ride.

By joining the G4 Cycling Club, you’ll have access to many quality cycling events. We will organise cycling trips on the mythical routes of the Côte d’Azur where you can test yourselves against the professionals. Your experience will be enhanced by us sharing our collective knowledge with you: our technical advice and tips, secret roads, favourite spots, themed outings, trips, meetings at major sporting events, etc. It’ll be somewhere where each member can bring something to the Club. Become one of the elite of cycling!

L’Etape du Tour takes place next week! The G4 Cycling Club will be present with some of its early members whom we briefly introduce below.

AURELIE DUBREMOY

Aurélie started cycling in 2015 when she started taking part in triathlons. For over a year, she has been climbing the hills in the area with her boyfriend. Both compete in events such as the Paris-Nice Challenge. Aware of the difficulty of L’Etape du Tour, she intends to redouble her efforts!

MORGAN DANVEL

Morgan starting cycling on a road bike to keep his triathlete girlfriend company during her training sessions. Originally from Normandy, his arrival in Nice made it an easy choice thanks to the climate and its mythical roads; it was hard not to join in. Now his training centres on a long weekend outing with shorter trips during the week.

“The main objective is to finish in the best possible conditions and to have fun.”

TAMAS LANYI

Tamas is 52 years old and has been riding for 7 years. A simple activity that has turned into a passion since he completed his first Etape in Annecy 5 years ago. Now he trains daily, summer and winter, in his G4 kit.

“This year we have a great team going to the Etape. Our goal will be to help one another and be one of the first groups down the Col de Vars.”

ZOLTAN KLIE

This 65-year-old experienced athlete started competing 15 years ago in mountain biking. Then, 2 years ago, he developed a passion for road cycling with Mazsola KSE, a Cycling Club in Keszthely, Hungary.

“I go to this great race to test myself, to join enthusiasts like me and try to surpass myself again!”

JEAN-FRANCOIS DUGUEY

“I tried many individual and team sports before the craze for cycling took over”. Jean-Francois became friends with Geoffroy at the start of his professional career and this competitive soul rides either alone or with his club up to 4 times a week.

“This is my first time at the Etape du Tour, at the age of 43. I prepared for this event with serenity and will share this friendly moment with my buddies. I can’t wait to be on the starting line with my bib number.”

MATTHIEU CONVERSET

Nicknamed “Copif” by his friends, Matthieu Converset is the secret weapon of our Cycling Club. Captain of the road at AVC, Aix en Provence, which competes in DN1, the highest amateur level in France. Winner of the Tour du Pays Roannais, 3rd in the French Amateur Championship and the Tour of Serbia, he has become a sure bet for the French amateur squad. Matthieu is a long-time friend of Geoffroy, he has been involved with G4 from its inception. During the winter, he works as Sports Director for Cross Team by G4.

“The goal is the same as last year, ride for victory! This is a great way to thank G4 and club’s other sponsors that accompany me thanks to the visibility I’ve gained at this event with second place on the podium last year.”
