Alan’s going to be blowing out 30 candles on his cake today. We suspect that should be no trouble for a man who’s often found driving the peloton for Cannondale and protecting his team captain. Alan Marangoni comes from a cycling mad family. As he explains in the video below, his first coach was his father. While at Cannondale, his brother is part of the coaching staff; making it truly a family affair.
Alan Marangoni hails from Emilia Romagna so we’ve whipped up a couple of local cakes for him to share with his huge fan club the “Marangonis.” The first, a Certosino, is a light fruit cake studded with chocolate and decorated with glace fruits while the second is a baked (gluten- free) rice cake rich with the scent of almonds and lemons – enjoy!
