Yesterday, in part one, we talked about Marco’s favourite races. Today we talk team casual wear and learn who Marco thinks is the most stylish of his new team mates.
G4: What’s important to you in your team casual wear?
MM: For me I think it’s important to get something that’s really comfortable for travelling, transfers between stages and also when you go home. You need something that’s quick and easy to change into and comfortable to wear. So if we have a training suit like the one from G4 and really comfortable clothing, it’s the best for us.
When you’re travelling and you’re meeting lots of people it’s nice to be recognized. With G4’s clothing people can easily see “Ah, that’s a rider from Cannondale.” It kind of makes you feel more important that everyone knows you’re an athlete, a professional rider. It also gives you more confidence if you know you look good. I like what I’m doing, I like my job and it’s nice to travel around because people recognise you for sure with the right clothing.
G4: Who do you think is the most fashion conscious member of the team?
MM: I think it’s Moreno Moser. He’s young, he’s good looking and he has his own style – very fashionable with the hairstyle and beard. Personally I don’t like to spend a lot of time in front of the mirror. It’s more my wife that’s doing that.
G4: I won’t tell her you said that!
MM: But of course when I’m ready to travel to the race I want to appear clean, tidy and nice looking. I think it’s also important for the team as you’re their representatives and you need to reflect its imagine. Neat, clean and tidy looks more professional for the team’s sponsors, guests etc.
G4: Indeed it does!
